Celtic blessing pendant – A Pewter pendant on adjustable waxed cotton cord. The Ogham inscription interprets as: Blessed be.
Oghams are also known under the name of ogham, oghaim or ogam, and were created, according to legend, by Ogma (Celtic god Ogmios), god of knowledge. Inscriptions in Ogham characters are only found in the British Isles. There are about 350 known inscriptions carved between 300 & 700 AD. Ogham is really an alphabetic code rather than an alphabet.
There were four groups of five letters in the system but, later, five more signs were added to represent dipthongs. The inscriptions themselves had a central stem from which short staves went left, right or crossed. Although many were magical, most were memorial or invocatory.
Diameter: 28mm | Thong length (max.): 30 inch (76cm)
Supplied in a fully recyclable gift box.

We visited one of the shops while we were in Cornwall recently. We couldn’t decide what to buy as everything was so lovely. Now I’m home I’ve got the luxury of looking at the products on the website. 😀. I’ve purchased this pendant as a Christmas present and I’m delighted. The pendant has a nice weight to it and I think it will look very cool indeed when the recipient is wearing it. It has arrived well packaged in a lovely recycled presentation box. I’m very pleased.
