Four spiral hairslide – an engraved pewter hairslide with a spirals design. Comes with a rhodium-plated stainless steel sprung clasp.
The clip on the back grips the hair tightly to prevent the hairslide from slipping out.
Spirals can be traced back 7000 years, developing from observing natural examples in shells and plants. Clockwise and anticlockwise spirals represent the inner and outer evolution of the spirit respectively. In relation to the seasonal calendar these relate to the winter and summer, the year being polarised into light and dark seasons. In Celtic belief this translates to the theme in which one always moves from the darkness into the light.

This piece is one I choose frequently when I wear my waist-length hair unbraided. And the barrette holds my hair perfectly with no pulling or slipping. I love the design, too.
If you were to make this much larger I would buy it. I’d like something big enough to allow me to gather all of my somewhat thick hai at the nape of my neck.
